Elementary Track & Field DayYouth RecreationJoin the Melrose Track Team for a fun afternoon where students grade K-6th can come try out a couple events in track and field. Athletes will learn the basics of the events, then have an opportunity to test their speed, jumps and throws in a fun competition. Staff will meet students in the elementary cafeteria after school. Future Rosettes Dance Camp, Grades 3-6Youth RecreationThis camp will be put on by the Melrose Rosettes! This is a great introduction to dance team for any dancers who have dreams of being on the Melrose Rosettes in the future. This camp will include a warm up routine, stretching, dance technique, choreography, and some fun team bonding activities. Dancers will have the opportunity to dance with the Melrose Rosettes in the Melrose Riverfest Parade. Dancers should wear clothing they feel comfortable moving and grooving in. Volleyball Positional TrainingYouth RecreationTake your game to the next level this summer with our specialized Volleyball Positional Training sessions! Designed for athletes who want focused, position-specific development, this program offers an additional hour of targeted training following regular team practice twice per week. Mondays: Outside & Right-Side Hitters (7:00-8:00) Wednesdays: Middles (4:00-5:00) Athletes will focus on attacking technique, shot selection, serve receive, transition footwork, and defensive responsibilities specific to position. Players will train blocking footwork and timing, quick-tempo attacking, lateral movement, transition efficiency, and net awareness. Each session is designed to build strong fundamentals while improving stamina, effectiveness, and overall volleyball IQ. Players will develop better decision-making, court awareness, and confidence within their specific role.
