Discover how small changes in landscaping can make a big impact on water quality, native habitat, and pollinator health. This class will look into ways to restore shorelines, create pollinator-friendly lawns, and utilize rain gardens to filter runoff while supporting wildlife. Whether you’re looking to replace traditional turf with native plants, improve shoreline resilience, or attract beneficial insects, this session will present some environmentally friendly alternatives.Fall 2026 -
NewDutchmen Archery Team, Grades 4-12Youth EnrichmentMelrose Area Community Education is proud to offer the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). Both new and returning archers are welcome! Our trained instructors focus on teaching proper archery skills, safety, and sportsmanship. Participants will practice on Mondays and Thursdays throughout the season and have the opportunity to compete in several regional tournaments on Saturdays. Practice Information Practices are offered at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Elementary students are encouraged to register for the 6:00 p.m. practice, if possible, but families may choose the practice time that works best for their schedule. Additional Preseason Practices Required for all NEW team members (regardless of grade): November 2, 9, 16 & 23 6:00-6:45 p.m. High School Gym Recommended for all elementary students (Grades 5-6):These extra practices help build a strong foundation in safety, shooting form, and tournament procedures before the regular season begins. While not required for returning elementary archers, attendance is strongly encouraged. What's Included Your registration fee includes: Team practices Entry into local tournaments Team jersey All necessary archery equipment Communication All team communication, including practice updates and tournament information, will be shared through the TeamReach App. Instructions for joining TeamReach will be provided after registration. Registration Deadline November 30 at 9:00 p.m. Mandatory Parent Meeting A mandatory parent meeting will be held on November 30 at the beginning of each practice session: 6:00 p.m. session 7:00 p.m. session During this meeting, we will review: Team communication Tournament information Parent and athlete expectations Volunteer Requirement Each family is required to volunteer during the season by helping with either: Our home tournament, or Meat raffles Tournament Schedule Local Tournaments January 23 – Melrose February 14 (Estimated) – Sauk Centre February 21 – Albany February 27 – Brandon-Evansville March 7 – Alexandria March 13 (Estimated) – Osakis State Tournament (Optional) March 19-20 Rochester, MN Additional fee: $30 (registration information will be sent at a later date) Additional tournaments beyond the local schedule, including the NASP State Tournament, may be available throughout the season. This course helps prepare children for staying safe at and away from home.
