This in-person course prepares youth ages 11-16 to safely and confidently care for children and infants. It includes hands-on activities, videos and discussions to develop essential real-life readiness babysitting skills. The course covers caring for children and infants from mealtime to bedtime, playing and promoting positive behavior and emergency response. Please bring a lunch, a snack, and a water bottle to class. Students receive a handbook, activities, and a babysitting certificate.

READY, AIM, LAUNCH!! Step into the world of ballistics and structural engineering in this high-energy, hands-on workshop. In CANDY CORN CATAPULTS, students become "Siege Engineers" as they design, build, and calibrate their very own desktop launchers. The mission? To successfully navigate the physics of flight and land a "harvest" of candy corn into a series of bubbling cauldrons. It's a race against gravity and a test of architectural strength!

Enjoy working on volleyball skills in a fun atmosphere! All aspects of the game are taught through drills and exercises that focus on passing, setting, hitting, serving, teamwork and sportsmanship. All participants will receive a Crush t-shirt. Crush Volleyball will attend a home game and sit behind the Dutchmen Volleyball Team on October 13! Shirts not guaranteed after October 1.

Melrose Area Community Education is proud to offer the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). Both new and returning archers are welcome! Our trained instructors focus on teaching proper archery skills, safety, and sportsmanship. Participants will practice on Mondays and Thursdays throughout the season and have the opportunity to compete in several regional tournaments on Saturdays. Practice Information Practices are offered at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Elementary students are encouraged to register for the 6:00 p.m. practice, if possible, but families may choose the practice time that works best for their schedule. Additional Preseason Practices Required for all NEW team members (regardless of grade): November 2, 9, 16 & 23 6:00-6:45 p.m. High School Gym Recommended for all elementary students (Grades 5-6):These extra practices help build a strong foundation in safety, shooting form, and tournament procedures before the regular season begins. While not required for returning elementary archers, attendance is strongly encouraged. Bring your team spirit and join the Dutchmen Cheerleaders for this camp! You will learn cheers, jumps, stunting, and more! Those attending the camp are invited to cheer at the first half of the football game on October 9. Free admission for the football game as well as a t-shirt and hair bow is included. If you register after September 30, no shirt will be provided. Please have your student wear a purple Melrose Dutchmen T-shirt or a Plain purple color T-shirt.

Join PotSpot to paint a fun decoration of your choice. There will be an assortment of Halloween & Fall pieces to choose from. We bring the supplies, you bring the creativity! PotSpot will fire your piece in their kiln and return it to school in about two weeks.
