Swim Lessons - July 27-30Swim LessonsFor more information about Swim Lessons click HERE. Swim lessons offered through Community Education are designed to teach participants lifelong swimming skills and provide training in basic water safety and how to help a swimmer in distress. In addition to the skills outlined under each level, swim lesson courses are intended to provide a positive learning experience so participants can feel comfortable and enjoy the water safely. Community Education swimming lessons are progressive, with each level building on skills, technique and endurance acquired as the levels advance.Please do not sign up for more than one level per child until they have passed their current level. Our instructors recommend time between lessons to build endurance and confidence in new skills. All swimmers must shower before entering the pool. *Must wear a swim cap. Toddler Swim TimeSwim LessonsWe have set the pool aside for parents and toddlers! The first night, Nathan Meyer, swim coach and long-time swim instructor, will join you to share some tips for getting your little one comfortable in the pool. Nights 2 and 3 will be your chance to enjoy pool time with your toddler. Lifeguard will be on duty. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. *Limit 20 Ages 2-5, with a parent. This is for children ages 1 to 5 and their family. This is a free event that is sponsored by the Melrose Area Schools ECFE program. Volleyball Positional TrainingYouth RecreationTake your game to the next level this summer with our specialized Volleyball Positional Training sessions! Designed for athletes who want focused, position-specific development, this program offers an additional hour of targeted training following regular team practice twice per week. Mondays: Outside & Right-Side Hitters (4:00-5:00) ** Note time change Wednesdays: Middles (4:00-5:00) Athletes will focus on attacking technique, shot selection, serve receive, transition footwork, and defensive responsibilities specific to position. Players will train blocking footwork and timing, quick-tempo attacking, lateral movement, transition efficiency, and net awareness. Each session is designed to build strong fundamentals while improving stamina, effectiveness, and overall volleyball IQ. Players will develop better decision-making, court awareness, and confidence within their specific role. Youth Summer Theatre CampYouth EnrichmentKids in grades 1-8, get ready for a great time on stage at Theatre Camp this year. Directors and assistants will instruct and mentor you in all of the steps necessary to produce a play. After one week, there will be a great show ready for the public! The first day will consist of auditions, followed by script reading and rehearsals. On the final day the students will spend the day at camp and in the evening there will be a performance for family and community members at 5:00 pm. Camp t-shirt included.Summer 2026
